Current Responsibilities
As the Online Content & Data Specialist (OCDS) and Administrative Assistant to City Director Jim Gifreda, Rachel is skilled in multiple disciplines and wears many hats organizationally. Her passion is to support, minister to, and develop those who are more closely interacting with internationals. As OCDS, her current projects include: data management, website improvement, social media development, graphic design, event/group promotion, and technical training.
She is a key organizational strategist behind the larger events of the past few years, such as the Furniture Event, Welcome Dinner, Annual Staff Retreat, and Thanksgiving Hosting. In her spare time, she also organizes excursions to give volunteers opportunities to connect with internationals year round.
Background
Rachel grew up in Columbus, Ohio where she has fond memories of having lunch after church with IFI Volunteers and international students. She was employed by the Student Activities & Leadership Development department at Columbus State Community College and graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in Social Work.
After getting married in 2016, she moved to Cincinnati and quickly got involved with the local ministry. Since then, she has played a key role in new initiatives relating to organizational growth, data management, communication clarity, event quality, strategic planning, online presence, and church partnership. She is also the face behind the newsletters and social media accounts.
Support Needs
What does Rachel want IFI Cincy to look like in 5 years? An organization that clearly communicates and effectively executes IFI’s vision to extend life-changing hospitality and friendship to internationals through the administrative power of a diverse group of gifted and talented volunteers and staff.
